I love flowers. I know I'm not alone in this - According to numerous scientific studies, flowers have positive effects on the brain; they elevate mood, reduce stress, and even help people to heal faster through colour, scent and symbolism. So that feel good factor is proven. It's no wonder we all love them so much!

A few years ago, my little family and I moved south of the Bombay’s to the picturesque Waikato town of Cambridge. Our new home was a project both inside and out. Despite being novice gardeners & first time renovators we were up for the challenge! Back in the 60's very dedicated gardener named Mary lovingly planted the garden, and it has certainly flourished since then…some might call it slightly over-grown...

Relocating, renovating and taming a large garden has been quite a journey, & most definitely an education - an ongoing education. However our unruly garden is a constant source of inspiration. The slower pace of life out of the big city also enabled me to renew my appreciation of the wonderful world of plants and flowers. Each season brings a new discovery, and while we try (and mostly fail) to bring structure to this garden, it has something to teach us at every step.

This journey inspired me to photograph my discoveries in the garden, in addition to the beautiful surroundings in which we live. The interior renovation left me with empty white walls crying out for colour, but with little left in the budget to fill those spaces. I realised the flowers in the garden provided excellent subjects to do exactly that. And suddenly, Wallflower was born!

While I love having fresh flowers in the house especially straight out of the garden (such a treat), of course their beauty tends to fade after hanging about in a vase for a bit. With our prints, tea towels and accessories you can fill your life with flowers that will never wilt!

I hope you enjoy.
